Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination Meet with management to review: Plans, quantities, and design details Labor hours and production targets Material quantities and deliveries Subcontractor scopes Project schedule and sequencing Identify the most efficient path to complete the project.
  • Crew Leadership & Execution Line out Leads, Laborers, and Subcontractors daily. Assign tasks based on team strengths and project needs. Assist in installation after management tasks are completed. Train and mentor crew members. Ensure work meets company quality standards.
  • Time Tracking & Budget Oversight Ensure crew hours are properly tracked in LMN. Approve daily time entries. Review payroll reports before submission. Monitor: Labor hours (over/under) Materials budget Subcontractor budget Report project trends and adjustments during weekly meetings.
  • Communication & Reporting Provide daily updates to Project Manager. Attend weekly performance meetings. Coordinate change orders with sales and management. Provide measurements and scope details for out-of-scope work.
  • Quality Control & Documentation Ensure installation matches approved plans. Conduct onsite meetings with Superintendent/Project Manager. Take and upload daily progress photos. Pre-construction photos of drive surfaces and adjacent structures required. Monitor material deliveries for accuracy and damage. Coordinate material pickups when needed.
  • Jobsite Safety & Cleanliness Maintain a clean and safe jobsite daily. Ensure: Debris is removed Customer-access areas are clean Streets are properly coned Secure all tools and equipment at the end of each day.
  • Equipment & Yard Oversight Ensure equipment is: Greased, fueled, and maintained Properly stored and secured Damage reported immediately Keep truck and trailer clean and organized. Maintain yard cleanliness and security.
  • Winter Responsibilities Operate plow trucks or tractors. Track weather conditions and storm timing. Ensure snow removal accounts are completed to company standards. Verify sites meet requirements at the end of each storm.

Requirements

Required

  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in landscape construction or residential construction.
  • Previous leadership experience managing crews on active job sites.
  • Strong understanding of: Landscape plans and construction drawings Grading and drainage concepts Hardscape installation (pavers, retaining walls, concrete prep) Irrigation systems
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, quantities, and schedules.
  • Experience tracking labor hours and job costs (LMN experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate material deliveries.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate equipment (skid steer, mini excavator).
  • Ability to drive trucks and tow trailers.
  • Strong communication skills with crew, management, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and company standards.
  • Ability to work winter snow removal shifts as required.
