Key Responsibilities

  • Project Execution & Production Own the successful day-to-day execution of assigned landscape projects, ensuring work is completed according to plans, specifications, schedule, and company quality standards.
  • Crew Leadership & Accountability Lead and manage a small installation crew by assigning daily tasks, setting expectations, maintaining morale, enforcing safety standards, and training team members to improve skill and efficiency.
  • Schedule & Budget Performance Track production against estimated time requirements and job budgets using LMN. Monitor project progress and communicate proactively if projects are trending off schedule or below target gross margin.
  • Quality Control Ensure all installations meet company standards for craftsmanship, cleanliness, layout accuracy, and safety. Line out projects with management prior to installation and confirm adherence to approved plans.
  • Communication & Reporting Provide daily updates to the Superintendent/Project Manager regarding completed work, upcoming needs, schedule adjustments, and jobsite issues. Participate in weekly meetings and report on project performance.
  • Equipment & Asset Management Maintain responsibility for all tools, trailers, trucks, and equipment assigned to the crew. Ensure equipment is maintained, secured, organized, and reported if damaged.
  • Site Safety & Professionalism Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites at all times. Protect customer property and ensure the jobsite reflects Pitt Landscape & Construction’s professional standards.
  • Winter Operations (Seasonal Responsibility) During winter months, lead snow removal operations on assigned accounts, including equipment operation, storm tracking, and ensuring properties meet company service standards after each event.

Requirements

Preferred

  • +Experience & Technical Ability Minimum 3+ years of landscape installation or construction experience. Proven experience leading or assisting in leading a small crew. Strong understanding of reading landscape plans, elevations, and construction details. Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, compact equipment, saws, and hand tools. Ability to track labor hours and production using job costing systems (LMN experience preferred).
  • +Leadership & Communication Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, accountable team environment. Strong verbal communication skills with crew members and management. Ability to give clear instructions and hold team members to company standards. Comfortable reporting daily production updates and participating in weekly performance meetings.
  • +Organization & Accountability Detail-oriented with strong time management skills. Ability to manage schedules, materials, and subcontractor coordination. Takes ownership of mistakes and proactively works toward solutions. Committed to achieving project gross margin goals (30% target).
  • +Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly. Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, snow, and varying weather conditions. Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends when project schedules require. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • +Seasonal Requirement Ability to operate snow removal equipment including plow trucks, tractors, and sidewalk machines. Willingness to respond to snow events during early mornings, nights, or weekends as needed.
